Cataract surgery has undergone significant developments over the last few years. The trend towards a reduction in incision size to limit refractive effects, modulation of US power to prevent endothelial damage and the creation of new implants for microincisions showcase bimanual phaco as a less invasive surgical procedure. Its efficacy, reproducibility and safety have already been proven in clinical trials. Bimanual phaco is a strategy of the future for cataract surgery but also for refractive surgery of the crystalline body.
